Description:
ALRAKIS is one of the awarded Erasmus Mundus action 2 projects for the period 2012-2016, coordinated by The International Office of George-August Universität Göttingen. The main objective of the programme is to achieve better understanding and mutual enrichment between the European Union and third countries co-operation in the field of higher education through promoting the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills at higher education level. ALRAKIS promotes in this sense exchange mobility in the South Caucasus region and Ukraine. The beneficiary countries are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine. The third countries involved are Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Ukraine. The European country partners are Germany, Poland, Spain, Estonia, Italy, Netherlands, France and Czech Republic. ALRAKIS places an emphasis on recognition of studies, QA and transfer of knowledge through research and cooperation bringing opportunities to 11 International Association of Universities (HEIs) from the South Caucasus and Ukraine, and participants from non partner universities and people in vulnerable situation within these regions. Other objectives are to: improve capacity building of third countries, enhance the internationalisation of studies, promote gender balance, equal opportunities and analytical teaching/learning skills, generate research incubators and exchange of knowledge, develop cooperation enterprise-university in research related areas, facilitate accreditation and recognition of studies, increase employability of students. The ALRAKIS scholarship covers: travel costs, full insurance coverage – health, travel and accident and a monthly subsistence allowance that for instance is 1500 EURO/month for PhD.
